Norfolk, NE – 4 Lanes 4 Nebraska today praised the work of the Nebraska Department of Roads and Governor Pete Ricketts after the announcement of new roads priorities that focus on completion of the decades-old Nebraska Expressway System.
“These plans create a playbook for modern infrastructure that better connects us, enhances economic opportunities in our communities, and makes travel much safer in our state,” said Josh Moenning, executive director of 4 Lanes 4 Nebraska, a statewide infrastructure advocacy organization. “The plan clearly values finishing our long overdue expressway system, recognizing its potential to grow our state. We commend the Governor, the Nebraska Department of Roads (NDOR), Sen. Jim Smith, Sen. Jim Scheer, and all involved in formulating the policies and creating the framework to make this work possible.”
“Innovative policymaking, coupled with crucial reforms within NDOR, including the consideration of economic growth and public input, spurred this change in Nebraska’s transportation planning. There are many years of lost time to make up; infrastructure resource investment and creative policy planning must continue to be top priorities in years to come.”
